What kind of leader
do you want to be?
What qualities make a good leader?
- What THREE qualities are you currently strong in – write them down
- Choose THREE things you want to work on in 2019 – write them down
- Remember who you want to BE, determines what you should DO!
- Think about one SMALL thing you can do daily to help you grow in the three qualities you want to improve on this year. For example: if you want to take better care of yourself, spend 10 minutes each day doing what re-charges you. If you want to become more organized, make your bed each morning. If you want to be more empowering, delegate one small thing each day to someone else.

I feel like I’m a good planner, organized, and competent.
I want to be more empowering, more empathetic, and more inspirational!
Empowering: delegate small things each day – kids pick up their shoes (haha), send one “good job” text a day
Empathetic: when someone is talking to me about a problem (or even my kids), be more fully present to listen
Inspirational: listen to a podcast for 10 minutes each day on how to become more inspirational / what other leaders say about inspiration
I feel like I am empathic, motivated, organized.
I want to be more visionary, patient, and have better boundaries.
Visionary: Spend 30 mins a week to dream/plan for future goals.
Patient: Being aware of when that inpatient feeling creeps in… then choosing to be patience.
Boundaries: Turning off my phone at 8:30pm each night and not turning it back on until I finished my morning devotions with God.
Love it!
I feel I am Compassionate, Flexible, Organized
I want to improve on: Self Care, Empowering, Innovative
Self Care – My word of the year is Linger (as in linger in God’s presence)- so daily I desire to get up earlier to read the Word/pray to get my head straight and in line with God. Weekly I gotta make it out snowboarding.
Empowering – Text 1 affirmation to a volunteer daily (I like that idea Julie) and I need to delegate small things on the weekend.
Innovative – Build 10 minutes a day of Whitespace, a chance to build upon creative ideas
Great Ideas Julie & Alyssa
Ok, just thought of another one that I need to do.
Bold – ask 3 new people (who aren’t serving) every weekend to serve in kids min
Awesome!
I feel that I am dependable, organized and consistant.
I’d like to improve on technology, story telling, and being compassionate.
I think practicing each day speaking out loud a story or theme of goodness or things that people can relate to, is a good step for me.
I think listening better, too when someone is going through something I haven’t, and offering them more empathy, maybe a helping hand and or praying together is another good step for me.
3 good qualities
1. I do what I do. I’m a good upfront guy. I get crowds & people excited.
2. Youth. | Getting kids in the Doors & keeping them here.
3. Overseeing kids, helping kids check in, & generally seeing things that needs finished, fixed or a little help.
3 Goals 2019
1. Better Teams, tribes & house parties in the Hype
2. Stronger Relationally Pastoral Experiences with people I do not know
3. Successful (which means God encounters) during Haiti, retreat, camp & any other trip or gathering we have with students.
